Still in School
Sometimes it feels like it is pointless to continue studying in school. I constantly hear of people my age just ditching school and starting up their own business, most recently my friends rented their own office downtown and are starting their own clothing line. So what do you think? Would you take that risk to stop schooling to take a shot at your big dream?

Make sure that what you are doing is what you like. Being at school studying isn’t less important that having your own company. People can do what ever day what at any time of their lives, what matter is that whatever you are doing is meanifull to you. Everything has a especific time for us. For some are sooner that others.
True… i guess what i was trying to get at was, it feels like education is sometimes stopping us from just going out and reaching for a dream? But i see what your saying, and it makes sense=)
I personally am a little afraide to take that huge jump. I do think that a positive to going to school is knowing that you’ll learn more about yourself, and develop new interests – that and make more friends and connections you might not do necessarily if you were out so quickly.
Sometimes, I want to stop attending school and work for my dream but I am afriad that if I fail, I don’t know what to do…
Well I know I’m not ready for the job I want yet…there’s still so much for me to learn…so school. At least school can keep me busy otherwise I’ll b sleeping till noon everyday…>.>
i’m too “pansy” to do sucha thing… like invest in a business knowing there are millions of other similar/same businesses around.
buh if i do have the guts, i’d go work for a company known for whatever field i wanna get into then slowly build up my list of clients. or maybe work my way up…idk.
buh then…i’ve heard of many horrific stories bout university graduates not getting employed… ubc, sfu, uvic, u.t., etcetc even tho they’ve got a bachelor’s degree.
it seems sucha tough workin world out there- i’d rather stay in school.
and it seems like a bachelor’s degree doesn’t mean much anymore. it’s the masters’ ppl are goin for now. scaryyy.
great conversation! I don’t think school is a guarantee of anything, but i’ve noticed that many people who haven’t been wish that they had.
Jen When I was your age I travelled and lived around the world.I always was curious and went to various schools and universities. I think its best to get your degree and then continue on. More better paying jobs are available and a university degree is always a bonus on your resume
